When you take a look in your jewelry box, what do you see? Are there large smooth pieces of trendy jewelry or do you mostly own meticulously detailed pieces? Part of the excitement of having a selection to choose from is there are many fashion opportunities to take advantage of, but not if all of your celebrity trendy pieces are exactly the same.
If all the jewelry in your stash is the same, consider picking up something different — you will feel adventurous every time you wear that different piece of trendy jewelry! For a long time, I mostly had beaded necklaces and bracelets in my own jewelry box, and that was thoroughly unsatisfying. Here are a few textures that can help diversify your jewelry holdings:
Smooth Textures for Trendy Jewelry
For trendy necklaces or rings to be considered smooth, the detail work should be very limited. If you run your fingers across the surface, it should feel smooth. Beads, rounded stones, in-set stones and some types of crystals all fit this category, like the ring below:
Soft Textures in Trendy Jewelry
You may not think of fashionable jewelry being soft, but there are some textures that pull it off. Feather jewelry is one of the major types that always keeps a soft texture. Some leather trendy bracelets are also very soft on your skin, which makes them a lot more enjoyable to wear.
Detailed Textures in Trendy Jewelry
When bright and bold colors were popular in 2011, you didn’t see too much detailed work. There was some, but I’m glad to see detailed celebrity trendy jewelry is making a comeback. Sometimes combining two other textures creates a level of detail that neither element could do on its own, but most often detailed work results in eye-catching designs.
