La Vie ParisienneCatherine Popesco is a native of Paris, France, the city which inspires her jewelry collection to
this day. As a young artist and designer, Catherine was rambling about the old factories and
artisanal workshops of Paris one afternoon when she discovered a cache of dusty, old
stampings used by jewelry makers in decades past. Some of them were over two hundred
years old, and many of these treasures were originally designed by celebrated artists such
as Lalique, Mucha, Galle and Picasso.
With her vivid imagination and the City of Lights as her inspiration, Catherine Popesco revived the grace and elegance of France’s golden Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Today these artistic gems enjoy new life with La Vie Parisienne, an exquisite collection of handmade jewelry worn and adored by women around the world. La Vie Parisienne combines classic European findings and a selection of historical American pieces, each carefully rendered from the original molds and stampings. The brilliant Austrian crystals are hand set, and the enamel is painstakingly applied using original colors created by Catherine herself. Our pieces are made of either “old silver” or 14K gold finish, a unique French process of laying sterling silver or 14K gold finish over a copper base. Following traditional French artisanal techniques allows each classic piece to best exhibit the delicate details of these historical designs. We are proud to present a timeless collection that has brought real history through a century to create today’s heirlooms. |
